Canlubang, carved out of a vast sugar plantation at the fool of the legendary Mount Makiling, offers 36 holes of championship golf designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The tougher north course has a common green for the 9th and 18th holes, both guarded in front by a gaping water hazard. The south course is longer but easier and more leisurely, although most par 3’s require shotes across deep ravine that cuts across the twin courses.

The best-known golf resort in the country, from the vantage point of the 7th tee, the view of the sea is spectacular. Wack-wack’s nearby west course, shorter and easier, fits more to the laid-back swinger’s idea of fun.
